The Barcelona SPACE & FLOW Yoga teacher training will be taught in English with the possibility of teaching practicals being done in Spanish.

This course is open to a maximum of 15 participants so as to insure maximum attention is given to everyone's development and growth.

For those living in or near Barcelona there will also be an opportunity to teach public classes alongside Rapha on a weekly basis throughout the course. (more details on application)

If you haven't met him already please come along to one of Rapha's workshops so that you can have a feel for both the practice and the person and to express your interest in joining this course.

PATH TO QUALIFICATION

 

To qualify as a SPACE & FLOW teacher you will need to be able to:

• Teach, utilise, and adapt the S&F dynamic warm up to fit the requirements of classes of various levels.

• Demonstrate, break down, scale up/down the S&F repertoire sequences + 3 sequences you have created using the various S&F tools and principles. 

• Create various short sequences of movements - "Set ups" - that follow a thread and serve to cultivate a positive and gradual learning and teaching experience for yourself and others.

• Work towards cultivating healthy relationships with yourself (mind & body), your students, and the communities you choose to serve using the practice. 

• Initiate for and by yourself regular periods of study and self practice.

• Show respect and appreciation for professional and social ethics in the sharing and teaching of the practice.


Attendance

Attendance to the whole programme is required in order to graduate.

All fees will need to have been paid in full for graduation to take place and for the SPACE & FLOW Yoga teaching diploma to be awarded.

Fees include

- Full tuition on all 10 weekends

- Mallorca retreat: shared (double) accomodation with three deluxe vegan/vegetarian/GF meals per day + snacks and access to all amenities such as swimming pool, meditation areas, etc...

- Access to the S&F online portal which includes:
• breakdowns of each repertoire sequence, including ‘Flow’ & ‘Pauses’ versions
• video recordings of all the in-person sessions throughout the course
• learning materials such as video lectures, relevant TED talks, books and articles (pdf’s)
• on-going discussions and Q&A's, with both Raphan and fellow teachers

- Full membership of the S&F Online Membership with more than
30 recorded classes, workshops, themed masterclasses and more
+
- Four (4) 45min individual online (via Zoom) mentoring sessions with Raphan for private and personal guidance.

Fees do NOT include 
Flights, travel insurance, airport transfers, professional insurance, props and any other extras. 


REQUIREMENTS

 

Candidates would benefit from already having a recognised Yoga teaching qualification, or an equivalent professional certification in the realm of dance, personal training, or movement coaching, however the only 3 requirements are as follows:

  • Have a physical movement and postural practice.
  • Be willing and able to commit to guided practices AND teaching, both of which will require to try things out, to practice and practice-teaching outside of one's comfort zone, to fuck it up, to shrug it off, and to try again… simply. 
  • Have the maturity - to ask when in doubt - to push with discipline when one can not proceed with grace - to appreciate that the refinement of our questions often contains the answers, and - to choose to take on the responsibility for one’s own mental and physical health.

 

ALL of the following are needed for the course: 

- A Yoga teacher-trainee insurance

- A camera/phone you can use to film and document your practice and sequences

- A Youtube account - for the 'unlisted' (not public) videos you will be required to send in for feedback

- A Gymboss miniMAX Interval Timer  


It is not a requirement to want to become a full-time teacher to join this training but please understand that this course is to enable people to teach SPACE & FLOW Yoga, and not just deepen their practice through the means of the method. As such everyone on the course will partake in teaching practicals and will be given teaching assignments.

If you wish to only and simply deepen your practice through the means of S&F Yoga the suggestion is to attend workshops, join us on a retreat, and/or have a few private lessons with Raphan.
